Tutor Facilitator for High School Students at the Boys and Girls Club

Interested in helping Tulsa Public Schools students deal with the difficulties of distance learning amid COVID-19? City Lab* will be offering socially distanced, in-person, student led tutoring and study groups at the North Mabee Boys and Girls Club on Wednesdays this Fall semester. Come help us make a difference in the lives of youth in your community!

Duties include:
  • Attending a volunteer training session prior to start date (times TBA)

  • Arriving at scheduled time 

  • Aiding with student check-in procedures 

  • Ensuring students practice safety procedures (wear masks, social distancing, regular hand sanitizing, temperature checks)

  • Supervising high school students as they self-lead study groups 

  • Offering homework help to students as needed

  • Leading a study group on a particular subject for high school students (optional: based on volunteer level of experience)

  • Helping to keep assigned area clean and sanitized before, during, and after programming

*This effort is a product of City Lab, an out-of-school time job opportunity for 9th and 10th grade TPS students that empowers students to identify problems in their community, design solutions using the engineering design process, and implement their solutions to make a difference. City Lab is a AEP Credits Count grant funded effort implemented with cooperation between TCC and TPS.

  2. Do you have symptoms consistent with COVID-19? Symptoms can include a cough or shortness of breath or at least two of the following: Fever, Chills, Repeated shaking with chills, Muscle pain, Headache, Sore throat, New loss of taste or smell. See the CDC’s symptom information.

If you answered "yes" to any of those questions, we ask you not to register. We are doing all we can to align with best practices and keep our community healthy.
